Intonation continues to honor a member of the community who has gone above and beyond in amplifying youth voice, opportunity, and creativity across the city of Chicago.

 

Intonation will be honoring the D’Addario Foundation with a Youth Amplifier Award in recognition of their 15+ year efforts encouraging the development of immersive music instruction programs in communities with limited or no access to music and arts education. Fueled by the passionate execution of programs like Intonation, they have nurtured active participation in music that has a meaningful impact on academic and social development.

How D’addario has amplified youth voice:

  • The D’Addario Foundation has supported programs in 47 of the 50 United States, in 54 countries, with continual support going to over 700 not-for-profits worldwide since 1981.
  • Executive director of the D’Addario Foundation for over 8 years, Suzanne D’Addario Brouder has overseen the substantial growth of the non-profit, ensuring the portfolio of initiatives the Foundation supports are the most innovative in music education.  
  • Through a disciplined vetting system, Suzanne leads the extensive evaluation that results in monetary and product support to 200+ high quality, robust music instruction programs yearly, organizes instrument collection/refurbishment events and awards college assistance scholarships to students in need to encourage continued educational development.
