Charles Williams is a multi-instrumentalist and an incredibly unique musician. He sang on a platinum gospel album at the age of 5. He has been classically trained on the piano, viola, and voice respectively. While studying vocal music education at Illinois Wesleyan University, (BME 2002-2006)he toured Eastern Europe and the Baltic with a 60-voice capella choir. Charles has produced multiple shows with many different organizations over the last 10-plus years. He’s also taught private music lessons on and off for the last 14 years. Goodman Theater Chicago, House of Blues Chicago, World Cafe Live Philadelphia, Blind Pig Ann Arbor, The Green Mill, and Lincoln Hall are some of the notable stages he’s played on. Charles has shared the Stage with Boyd Tinsley (Dave Matthews Band) and Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band). Charles also has an album with Emmy award-winning recording engineer Fred Breitberg (Stampy 2017). He has also shared the stage with 3rd runner-up on season 17 of The Voice, Katie Kadan. Currently, he is working with the Localvores, Brooklyn Britches, and the Whispers (featured in an episode of Chicago’s Check Please and WGNs around town), Mixtape, and many other Chicago projects.
